Lambas by Soatanana
These exceptional and versatile lambas are so much more beautiful when you can hold them and feel the texture of the silk yarns. Caring for lambas is so easy. They only require washing in cold water and drying in the shade. The natural dyes are all colorfast. Lambas potentially last for generations and are excellent heirloom pieces. You need to read the "How Lambas Are Made" for the details about these museum worthy wearable textile art items.

  Plaids
Plaids are very rare among the designs. The use of different colored insertion yarns across the lamba creates this beautiful variation.
  Two Colors Only
The careful selection and use of two colors to compliment each other sets these off in terms of style and beauty. At times the second color is bold and strikingly different while in some cases the second color is subtle and just enough of it present to add contrast.
  Uniquely Different
Lambas that contain unique colors and combinations of design are featured in this category. Often this involves using sariff in unusual ways or color contrasts that are particularly beautiful.
  Sariffs - Intricate Design Patterns

One of the rare art forms managed in this hand woven fabric is the sariff design which includes diagonals and a variety of patterns. This work takes hours for the weaver to accomplish but enhances both the beauty and value.

  Stripes

Beautiful use of contrasting colors and widths of stripes mark the sign of an experienced weaver. Stripes are among the favorite design for the Malagasy weavers.

  Solid Colors
Solid colors are not seen as often in the production scheme of the village. Look for more of these in the future.
